About Tintype/Wetplate Collodion

Tintype, also called wet plate collodion, is a nineteenth century photographic process that creates a one of a kind portrait on a thin sheet of metal. Each image is made by hand by pouring collodion onto the plate, sensitizing it in a silver nitrate bath, exposing it in camera while the plate is still wet, then developing and fixing it on the spot. The result is a timeless photograph with incredible detail, natural depth, and the signature character of true analog craftsmanship. No digital files, no filters, and no two plates ever exactly alike

A wet plate collodion session is as much an experience as it is a portrait. Because the plate must be coated, exposed, and developed within minutes, every step happens in real time, turning the process into a living piece of history. Tintypes are archival, tangible keepsakes that are perfect for individuals, couples, families, and brands who want artwork that feels authentic and lasts for generations. If you are looking for a portrait with soul, texture, and story, tintype photography offers something modern cameras simply cannot replicat

About Bradford

My name is Brad Booth, and I am a photographer and videographer who lives for storytelling through images both modern and historic. After years of working on the road as a full time nomad since 2018 and freelancing for over a decade, I was drawn to wet plate collodion for the same reason I fell in love with photography in the first place. It slows everything down and brings intention back into the process. Every tintype is handmade from start to finish, and no two plates are ever the same
For the past two years I have been creating tintypes as timeless, one of a kind keepsakes, blending old world craft with a sense of place and adventure. I split my time between Florida and Alaska, making portraits shaped by the landscapes I love and the people in front of my lens. If you are looking for a portrait with depth, texture, and soul, I would love to create something you can hold onto for generations.
